What is SpatialDB?

SpatialDB is a spatial extension to SQL Server 2005 or 2008, that in addition to conforming to the OGC standards, provides full 3D support and operations, including 3D volumetrics and boolean operations.

In other words, SpatialDB extends SQL Server into a full 3D spatial database.

Additionally SpatialDB adds capability to import and export to many spatial formats, as well as offering many construction and advanced spatial operations.
